Today is Archie’s 3rd birthday 🐯

Another lap around the sun and wondering each day about the little boy you would have been. At this milestone, you probably would have transitioned out of a cot, hopefully be toilet trained and perhaps be learning to ride a pedal bike (with training wheels). You might be kicking and catching a football and we’d be spending plenty of time at playgrounds and parks. You could have been in your beige food stage and developing empathy. Daddy would be feeding you secret ice creams and doughnuts while Mummy would be trying to constantly update your wardrobe with all your growth spurts.

The best birthday gift that you can give us to honour his memory other than using his name include lighting a candle or making a donation to one of the below registered Australian charities that tirelessly work to support bereaved parents like us.

In honour of our Archie Tiger, our annual traditions (which continue to develop and evolve over time) include writing his name in the sand at the beach, baking him a cake, regularly lighting a candle and annual donations on his birthday totalling $365 to nominated charities below to mark the last 365 days without our firstborn child in our arms and in our home 🕯️💙

Yeah, this is not a Christmas photo. It’s actually an old photo. But it’s one of the last staged photos we’ve taken in a while of our family ❤️ it’s been quite a year!

And Christmas is generally about togetherness, family, community and giving. But for many, it’s also a time of loneliness, sadness and missing or wishing that a loved one was with us ✨

And in a blink of an eye, Darcy is 1.

What a tremendous year, watching this little one grow, learn and develop.

You constantly babble, your favourite morning poop spot is in your high chair, you hate the feel of grass on your feet, you love textures in your hands, you enjoy making noise and music, you can push your toy cars and aeroplane and you’re exploring every day.

Never did we know so much drool, poop and tiredness. It doesn’t matter, because we love you to the moon and back 💙 🌙
