“I come from a Land Down Under”
The ancestral home of the indigenous Aboriginal people offers majestic wilderness and breathtaking landscapes that it would be almost criminal to not spend the majority of your time in the great outdoors. Breathe in the unmistakable scent of eucalyptus gum leaves. Get up close with our famous furry mammals and follow the trail through the ancient Gondwana rainforests – but mind your step and keep an eye out for the creepy crawlies!
Whilst Australia may not offer any particularly fancy gastronomic specialties (does Vegemite and pavlova count?), we’ll definitely boast about our top-notch baristas who serve the best flat whites, hands down. The surfer dudes and sun-kissed babes do exist, more so than the likes of Crocodile Dundee. So make your way to the Land Down Under where we’ll show you how to chuck a shrimp on the barbie and teach you to watch out for the drop bears.
When we meet people abroad and they learn we’re Australian, we’re likely to be asked if we’re from Sydney or Melbourne. One of us can oblige and will waffle incessantly about the best coffee bars in Melbourne, its burgeoning creative scene and tip-top culinary offerings. We have not had anywhere near enough time to explore and write about our home country. But the precious amount of holidays available to us has allowed us to explore parts of tropical North Queensland during a 5-day campervan trip, spend a few weekends exploring Byron Bay and check out our current home city Brisbane to discover the best specialty coffee in the River City.
Explore our home cities through our mini guides and make sure to share with us your Australian experiences too!
