A MINI GIFT GUIDE FOR YOUR TRAVEL BUDDY
As frequent travellers, we have become more attuned to our carbon footprint everywhere we go. We have seen first hand the devastating effects that humans have on our planet. Each day, we strive to take steps to adopt sustainable initiatives so that our children will have the opportunity to witness and enjoy the beauty of Mother Earth too.
Made With Respect was started to inform and encourage consumers that they can lead a sustainable lifestyle through responsible consumption. The company works with socially conscious businesses from around the world, making them available on a single web platform. All brands that work with Made With Respect must fulfill the criteria of four pillars:
- Demonstrate a devotion to craftsmanship – make quality products that last and stand the test of time
- Have a transparent supply chain – good and fair working conditions are imperative and does not use nor endorse child labour
- Use of natural materials and natural ingredients – no unnatural chemicals or toxins, recycling, upcycling, regeneration and reduction of waste, embracing renewable resources and preserving the environment
- Giving back – the business’ mission goes beyond making profits and shows a commitment to making the world a better place including supporting local or disadvantaged communities
If you are passionate about adopting a responsible and sustainable lifestyle, Made With Respect partners with brands who create beautiful products. From clothing to skincare, homewares and accessories, it’s also a wonderful one-point stop to shop for a gift! Some brands who partner with Made With Respect are featured in this blog post.

The Groomed Man Co. Face Cleanser & Body Scrub
For many men, I’d fathom a guess that a skincare and beauty regime does not fit into a regular daily routine. This was the same for Bevan, however, a care package* from TheGroomedManCo. has since changed his philosophy on male grooming.
In 2014, The Groomed Man Co. launched in Melbourne, Australia. Founder Daniel Mahony has successfully filled the gap of locally produced grooming products for the bearded population. With a primary focus on beard oils made with organic essential oils, the brand has since branched out into face scrubs, cleansers and moisturisers. The whole kitten-kaboodle. Their design aesthetic is clean and sharp, similar to the zingy scents of their premium product.
The beard oils are sold in 30mL bottles, which means you’ll breeze by the “liquids police” at your airport security screening. Bevan didn’t try the beard oil this time given his current lack of facial hair, however, he was pleasantly surprised by the tingly fresh feeling after using the Face Fuel Cleanser (yes hun, that would be because you just unclogged your pores). He is also a convert of the Activated Charcoal & Bamboo Body Scrub, which has convinced him that he will never need a loofah or exfoliating brush again.
Combined with witty humour that makes me want to join the copyright team, TheGroomedManCo. also has a moral compass, with 5% of total profits donated to local charities. Bless them.

The Divine Company Gel Cleanser & Day Cream
I’m actively seeking to learn more about beauty products and developing a regular beauty regime, even when I’m on the go. So when Made With Respect approached me to test a few products* for Australian company, The Divine Company, I was both eager and thrilled.
The Divine Company is an Australian Certified Organic beauty brand. The company is passionate about enriching beauty and wellness by working with natural elements from the environment. The Divine Company adopts a philosophy of living an authentic life and helps people to work towards this by offering beautiful, premium skin care.
I’ve found that I’ve easily been able to work The Divine Woman Lactic Gel Cleanser into my daily routine. I simply lather a small amount onto my face in the morning to help me wake up and my skin feels bright and refreshed, ready to tackle the day ahead. However, my favourite is The Divine Woman Illuminating Day Cream. I learned that it contains Native Australian Kakadu Plum, known for its high source of Vitamin-C, which works to detoxify and flush out toxins from the skin. The cream has a light fruity scent and its 50mL size means it is also perfect for carry-on travel.

SWIMWEAR
With tons of one-use plastic ending up in oceans each year, it is encouraging to learn of several swimwear brands making conscious efforts to use recycled plastics and other materials in their production. Australian designers are helping to make waves in the industry, seeking inspiration from the country’s landscapes to create unique prints, source the highest quality fabrics and empower women to feel beautiful inside and out.

BACKPACK
For regular travellers, a backpack will be your trusted carry-on piece which makes them a great gift idea. Make sure to find a style where you can throw in your laptop, camera(s), noise-cancelling headphones, reusable water bottle, book/kindle, passport and other bits and bobs. We find that it’s often easier to store backpacks in overhead storage and there’s less chance that it will end up in the hold if the overhead lockers are filled with suitcases!
