WHAT TO WEAR IN TURKEY IN NOVEMBER
As one of the world’s largest textile and garment producers, it’s a wonder that Istanbul only joined the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Calendar in 2013. Turkish designers are fast gaining a reputation on the international stage. For the fashion conscious, the city offers a plethora of sartorial options and a chance to show off Istanbul street style.
Head to the hills of Şişli to find specialist leather & fur stores among luxury boutiques. Chain retailers line the pedestrian-only Istiklal Cd in Taxim, while in Beyoğlu, you’ll find mid-range boutique stores selling apparel and Turkish-designed accessories. For the vintage hunters, make your way to the streets of Karaköy.
When we visited in mid-November, the days were cool and the evenings a few degrees cooler still. Make sure to grab a jacket or coat en route to the dinner date. To help the ladies decide what to wear in Istanbul when packing for Turkey, I’ve put together this stylish set.
